Ghana News Monitor is not a publisher and does not replace the outlets doing the reporting. It is a reader tool for seeing when several Ghanaian news sources are covering the same development, then choosing the original work to read.
What happens when you refresh
The monitor does four things before it returns a feed.
It normalizes the incoming records.
Headlines, publication times, categories, original URLs, and publisher details are brought into a common format. A failed or slow source does not prevent the remaining sources from being shown.
It groups substantially similar coverage.
Multiple reports on the same evolving development can appear together as a coverage cluster. The monitor never merges publishers into one source or removes their original links.
It returns the reader to the original work.
Each linked report opens at its publisher. Ghana News Monitor is designed to make source comparison easier—not to copy or replace original journalism.
Times and source labels
Know which clock and link context you are reading.
Source time is supplied by the publisher or public institution. The monitor’s saved result time records when Ghana News Monitor completed the reader-requested source check. A source’s publication time is not changed by a later monitor refresh.
Source context
Official source, publisher report, regional source, analysis, and opinion labels describe the type of linked material. They are not truth scores or publisher rankings.
Original attribution
Publisher names and outbound links stay visible wherever reports are grouped. Publisher links carry Ghana News Monitor referral parameters for destination attribution.
Reader privacy
The referral parameters do not create an individual reader click history at Ghana News Monitor. The monitor does not use them for behavioural advertising or profiling.
